A Decade

The year was 1999 and nobody knew what was going to happen when the clock struck midnight and we moved into the year 2000… Y2K. The computers didn’t explode, the TVs still worked… life was good 🙂 I’ve been reading many different magazines, news articles and watching TV as they count down the most monumental moments in the last decade. Yes… DECADE. It got me to thinking, what have I done in the last decade… how did it start, how did it end and what went on in the middle.

10 years ago, I was a little freshmen in this huge world called High School. I had my first job at a little store in my neighborhood with my best friend Cait. I spent every available minute with my friends, playing boot hockey, Super Nintendo, snowboarding, going out on the lake… not a care in the world. Over the next 10 years…I got my license, fell in love, made friendships that have lasted a decade and others that have dissipated and I graduated from high school. I left my life in Minnesota, went to college in Iowa (yes Iowa) and met amazing friends that changed my life. I graduated from college and fell in love with photography. And now, tomorrow starts a new day, a new year, a new decade and more adventures to look forward to. I don’t know what will happen, but I know I will enjoy every moment of it and appreciate all that life has to offer! Thanks to everyone who has made this past year unforgettable and to all my clients you are amazing and I am blessed that you open up your lives to me.

Happy Holidays!

The first time in my life, I can look outside on Christmas and see TONS of fresh snow! It definitely is a white Christmas here in Minnesota, and I wouldn’t ask for it any other way. Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday, and be safe if you’re traveling about! 🙂

Paisley – 24 hours old

Fresh out of the oven, here she is.. Paisley Rose 🙂 It was a surprise gift from family and Ashley, for me to come to the hospital to get some pictures of the newest member of the H family! I was so honored and excited to meet Paisley, I can’t wait to do even more pictures when they get home from the hospital and get all settled in to their new family of 5.

Reese – 8 days old

Meet the beautiful, tiny peanut that is Reese 🙂 I was so excited when I heard her mama was pregnant AND moving back to Minnesota! It had been so long since I’d seen Abby, so I went over there this week to spend some time with her, Riley (her almost 2 year old boy) and meet Reese! It was so nice to catch up, and we figured why not grab a couple pictures of Reese while I was there! Here are just a couple, we spent most of our time catching up and ooh-ing and ahh-ing over Reese and Riley.

Cassie+Jeff+Baby Treston

On Saturday I had my last session of 2009, and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect couple to spend it with! I made the trek to “Canada” to meet with Cassie and Jeff at their beautiful home. We were lucky enough to have it warm up to 30 degrees, so we popped outside for some family pictures before baby Treston arrives in about 7 weeks! 🙂 I’m so excited to meet and photograph him when he arrives! Thanks for spending the afternoon with me, it was so nice to meet you guys!

I think this one is my favorite 🙂

Cassie & Jeff, you guys are going to be GREAT parents! Treston is so lucky!

Photobooth Fun!

One of the new things I’m so excited to offer in 2010 will be the addition of the CrazyBooth/Photobooth! It’s so much fun for weddings, family events, parties etc., something a little different! Here’s a little slideshow of Pam and Billy’s wedding 3 months ago, still can’t believe it was that long ago. When I was making this video it made me want to revert back to that day and do it all over again! 🙂 ENJOY!

I’m still here!

I may be under the pile of photos being edited and Christmas cards getting out, but I’m here! I almost feel like I’m caught up, phew! 🙂 There are only a couple of sessions left for 2009, I’m still in awe of how fast this year went! I’m working on a few changes for 2010… prints, website, new blog etc. It’s going to be amazing when it’s all said and done! I can’t wait to show it to all of you!

I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays, however you spend them… I will be finishing up my Christmas shopping this week and beginning the wrapping process! Sometime this week I will be posting the last booking special of 2009, so come back and see what it is 🙂 And because every post is better with a picture, here a few of some little ladies whom I love dearly!

I know I’ve said it before, but I truly believe I get to photograph some of the greatest families! We must be true Minnesotans because we were excited that it was 40 outside 🙂
