Braelyn

The second I walked in the door Braelyn reached out, gave me the biggest hug and just smiled. I’ve known Braelyn’s mom since we were in 1st or 2nd grade, so I was beyond excited when she said they were coming to town to visit! I have seen pictures of Braelyn online but they do not to her justice, she is the CUTEST little lady. She just celebrated her 1st birthday last month but didn’t get to do a cake smashing at her birthday party so we figured… why not do it now?  I would love to do a cake smashing session for every 1 year old.. they are so much fun (messy fun)! Braelyn didn’t get as messy as I thought she would, she’s quite the lady 🙂  It was so good to see you Megan and Braelyn, come back to Minnesota soon!!!!! (By the way, aren’t her blue eyes to die for????)

Baby Ella

She came into this world less than 3 weeks ago and has not wanted to miss out on a single moment since. I arrived to meet Ella and she was awake and smiling away. It was adorable! The weather was perfect on Sunday so we decided to venture outside for most of our session! Ella’s mom is good friends with Stephanie who created my camera bag that I love! She also made the cutest diaper bag for Ella’s mom, it’s one of a kind; so for all you moms out there looking for something unique, check out Stephanie’s Creations! Thanks again for having me over F family, it was so nice to meet you! Congratulations on your beautiful daughter, she’s an angel!  Hope you enjoy your sneak peek! 🙂

One of my Favorites

Being new to the photography industry, I often look to other photographers and their blogs as inspiration. They are a constant reminder that hard work and enjoying what you do pays off in the images of the families and people you’re photographing. Tara Whitney has become one of my favorite photographers in Orange County, California; I don’t remember how exactly I came across her blog last year but I’ve been addicted to it ever since. To say she’s talented would be an understatement because she’s so much more than that! She just started doing videos with a friend and has posted a few of them on her blog. I came home today after quite the morning and saw she updated her blog with a new video, I anxiously went to her blog and began watching. The video took my breath away and filled my eyes with tears, happy tears 🙂  Take a moment to check out their video and her blog because she is such an inspiration to me that I want to share it with everyone!

Happy Sunday! 🙂

Bennett – 6 months

Bennett has been on here once before when he was 3 months old, he has grown so much in the last 3 months I couldn’t believe it! Mom wanted to get some pictures for Dad’s birthday and since he’s the biggest Liverpool soccer fan we had to get some in B’s new outfit! Isn’t he just the cutest? We did these a few weeks ago but I had to keep them a secret in case Dad looked at the blog! Happy Birthday K! Hope you liked your baby boy’s pictures!

50th Wedding Anniversary

She was wearing a white dress that buttoned up the back; he was dressed to the nines in a black suit. They stood together sharing their love for each other in the company of their friends and family…50 years ago.  Last Saturday on the 50th anniversary of their wedding, they stood in the same church with their original bridal party to renew their vows. The beautiful voice of their granddaughter and my friend Jessica filled the church as people gathered to be apart of this wonderful occasion. After the ceremony we all gathered outside to enjoy the weather and a fabulous BBQ with lots of delicious food including these ginormous cupcakes from a bakery in Bloomington. The part that brought a tear to my eye (yes apparently I’m a crier at weddings…) was when Karen and Terry danced to their song ‘Through the Years’ underneath the tent as the sun started to set, while their granddaughter sang and nephew played the piano. I feel so honored to have been included in their day, thank you so much for having me there. Here’s a few of the pictures from the day, there are many more to come!!

Karen & Terry in front of the church just as they did 50 years ago 🙂

Jen+Chris – Wedding Day

A couple weeks ago I had the honor of assisting Emily at Jennifer and Chris’ wedding, needless to say I left their wedding with the biggest smile on my face. The entire car ride home, Emily and I gushed about how adorable they are and how much you can see their love for each other. We were worried the weather wasn’t going to work in our favor, but right before the ceremony was about to take place, the skies opened up and it was nothing short of spectacular. This was my first wedding and I could not have asked to photograph a better couple. Jennifer & Chris were so laid back, easy going and fun loving, they honestly just wanted to have a day to share their love with their friends and family! Thanks again Jen & Chris for allowing me to tag along with Emily, it was honestly such a pleasure to be a part of your day! Hope you had a great time on your honeymoon and Jen I’ll be coming in to see you soon!! Check out Emily’s blog for more pictures of their perfect day!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy Independence Day!!! 🙂  I was lucky enough to spend the afternoon with my Godson and some friends, we took Jackson out on the lake for his first boating experience. His cousin Amelia let him borrow her pink flowery life jacket, but he still managed to look manly in it! It was a beautiful holiday other than the 10 minute downpour we experienced, but I can’t complain because afterwards it was blue skies and sun for miles!

Happy 4th of July to you and yours!!! 🙂

Kayli’s 1st Birthday

It’s hard to believe just one year ago my friend Katie was pregnant with Kayli and just last weekend we were all getting together to celebrate Kayli’s 1st Birthday. Seriously, how does a year go by so fast?  They put together a perfect BBQ filled with burgers, brats, hot dogs and of course CAKE! I snapped a few pictures before I had to leave, so I missed out on the cake extravaganza, which I heard Kayli did NOT like… she doesn’t like to get messy 🙂  Happy 1st Birthday Kayli! We all love you so very much and can’t wait to see where life takes you!
