Keep it forever

Emily and I had our weekly lunch date today, where we talk a little business, a little life and a whole lot of photography. As we were sitting at D’ Brian’s she asked if I had checked her blog today.  I hadn’t checked it yet, so she grabs her iPhone and pulls up the video she posted on her blog this morning. I’m so glad she shared it with me because it truly encompasses one of the many reasons why I love photography. It’s hard to express in words why I truly enjoy taking pictures, but I think as you watch this you can see why pictures are such an important part in my world 🙂

Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Baby Ben + Big Brother John

Last weekend Emily and I ventured out to Brooklyn Park to spend a few hours with John and his new baby brother Ben. John was quite the ham for the camera, with lots of giggles, smiles and superman impressions! Ben was so fast asleep, thanks to our handy heating pad, he had no idea what big brother was up to! Here’s a few from the session to share, there are too  many to choose from so I could only put a couple up!

Happy Birthday Dad!!

Today is my Dad’s birthday, I won’t share on here his age because I’m sure he would not like that, but I consider him 40 years young 🙂 Right dad?

We are celebrating today with some quality family time, even though it would be even better if my brother was here to celebrate with us. So our plan is to go see Julia Roberts new movie Duplicity and then have a nice dinner at Wild Fire in Eden Prairie, doesn’t that sound like a great way to celebrate your birthday?  To tell you a little bit about my dad, he’s been telling me since I was teeny tiny that I’m not allowed to date until I’m 30 (very funny dad), and that he can’t wait for day when he can use the line from Clueless “I’ve got a .45 and a shovel and no one will miss you.” And he wonders why I never bring a guy home to meet the parents, haha! Yes he’s quite the jokester but he’s also one of the kindest, supportive and loving people in my life. I don’t know what I would do without him.

Anyways, just wanted to let my dad know how much I love him and I hope he was a WONDERFUL birthday!!!

*Below are a few pictures that I got from my uncle a few years ago and wanted to share some old school pictures of my awesome dad 🙂  I swear I can see how much we look alike in the first one!

Baby Will

On Monday, which happened to be exactly one week after Will was born, Emily and I had the opportunity to go over and take loads of pictures of him. As I sit here editing all his pictures, I can’t get over how perfect and well behaved he was for us. He let us move him all over the place, didn’t fuss or cry at all, and we only had two accidents (you never know with little boys), but Emily was quick with the blanket so it was all covered. 🙂  He slept for almost the entire time we were there and hopefully he continued to sleep so Mom could get a nap after we left!  Hope you all enjoy the little sneak peek at Will’s session, he’s just too cute for words so I’ll stop at that! Thanks again K, D, Will and Mutsy for having us over!

This is by far one of my favorite images from the day… totally looks like a little man, doesn’t he?

Lauren + Anna

On Sunday I had the honor of going with my friend Kelly  to do a shoot with a wonderful family out in Savage, MN. From the moment we walked in the door we knew this was going to be so much fun. Kelly described it best on her blog because we found out the little girls got into the glitter while mom wasn’t looking and had it all over their pretty faces!  The afternoon was filled with my bad jokes (anybody have good jokes?), lots of laughter and so many great pictures it was hard for me to choose what to put on the blog today! I should probably tell you that these little ladies do some model work for Target, which made ours jobs even easier! They knew exactly what to do, and even helped to choose the locations to do the pictures! Thanks Lauren & Anna, I had so much fun hanging out with you girls!

A little more Aidan

Because one picture just wasn’t enough of Aidan, I wanted to put up a couple more from our session this weekend! Being around Aidan makes reminds me why I love working with children, they can make you laugh at the drop of a hat and constantly remind you to stop and enjoy life. I had so much fun with him and can’t wait to hang out again! Thanks for letting me take pictures of you Aidan, it was a blast!

Aidan

I just got home from a brisk and windy walk on this Saturday evening and started to edit the pictures from my afternoon shoot with Aidan. There are not enough words to describe this little man, he impressed me the moment he started singing Jonas Brothers “Burnin’ Up” and knew every word of it. Side note: he’s 4 years old and knows every word to the song! 🙂 It was probably one of the cutest moments ever! This was during our evening when he helped all of us ladies at our cookie making party, he was the best cookie decorator EVER! What’s a cookie without tons of frosting and even more sprinkles on top? It’s just not a cookie at all! I just started editing them and wanted to at least put one picture up for his mom, who by the way is an amazing realtor for Edina Realty if anyone is in the market for buying or selling a house! Hope you guys enjoyed your Caribou!!! See you soon!

Miss Mary

Unfortunately the weather is Minnesota is so unpredictable, which is what happened on Sunday. Not sunny and nice as I expected it to be, instead we were suppose to get snow (which never showed, thank goodness) but it was definitely an icky morning. But as soon as I walked into the K family’s house, it didn’t matter… Miss Mary just lights up the room. She is just the cutest 2 year old girl with the biggest smile! Mom had told Mary I was going to be coming over, she thought that meant I was coming over and Mom and Dad got to leave… too cute! We had a shorter session but I definitely didn’t want to leave, she was so fun and wanted to show me every toy in her room, her doll house, her dora phone… everything little girls love to play with! I can’t wait until the next time we meet Mary, I can only imagine how much fun we will have when we can be outside! Here are a couple pictures for Mom and Dad 🙂

Monsters

I’ve come to the conclusion that Pixar makes movies that are the perfect mix of adult humor and kid entertainment. This was clearly proven when I saw Finding Nemo and later reaffirmed when Cars came out! I mean Dory and Mater clearly stole the show in both movies! 🙂 I must say my movie collection contains far more kid movies than your average 24 year old, but I have no shame in admitting it! Anyhooo, the newest Pixar movie Monsters vs. Aliens is coming out March 27th and I’m so excited. I actually giggle every time the previews come on TV. It just seems like one of those movies you can go, see and come out just having spent $10 on a movie that made you happy. They don’t seem to make movies like that anymore!  The other movie I put up here  won’t be released until the summer but they’ve started to show some previews in the theaters. I got so excited when we were sitting in the theater and there is Scratch up on the screen, I’m pretty sure I looked like a little kid who just saw Santa…. so excited!  If you don’t know what I’m talking about yet, it’s Ice Age 3! Yes they made a 3rd one, finally! I can NOT wait! You know you are all secretly excited for it as well, just admit it 🙂  It’s one of those movies you won’t mind taking your kids to!

Well I just wanted to share them with all you blog readers out there, take a break from your crazy day, enjoy a little giggle… sometimes that’s all it takes to make the day a little better! Enjoy! 😀

Diego, Dora and Miley!

No those aren’t these wonderful children’s names but they were common themes on our Saturday afternoon. Mr. F is very into Diego, his little sister G is all about Dora and big sister M looks so much like Miley Cyrus I couldn’t believe it! We were lucky on Saturday because it was a little nicer than anticipated so we made a trip down to the lake, threw rocks around and played on the little bridge! Here’s a little sneak peek for mom and dad, it was so hard to pick out just a few for the blog… there were so many great ones! Thanks for having me over, it was so nice to meet you all!
